Fulfillment

Looking back
On my sixteen year old self
And remembering a promise
A promise to myself
A promise to go back
To go back and explore
And to know
That my life will still be an adventure
Because life does not stop at any age
It's meant to be used
To be pursued
To be enjoyed
Each and every day
And so I will go
And I will explore
I will fulfill a promise to myself
But all the more
I will remember
That my life is full
And I am blessed
By the One who remembers everything
His promises are true
And by His grace
I am set free

MOMENTS

The little moments
They all add up
Like singing in church
Pancakes for breakfast
Sharing your favorite shows
And talking about anything
The words of encouragement
Advice and your time
Holiday cooking
And just seeing you smile
The greeting cards
And all your support
Thank you for all the years
And for the moments to come
I’m proud to be your daughter
Because the little moments
They all add up
And that’s mom to me

Give Me a Moment

I’m bored at home

And all I want to do

Is just to sit

And talk with you

About this or that

And the other thing

To laugh a little

Or maybe hear you sing

I’m not quite sure why

But I’m willing to try

Just give me a few moments

Or maybe two

To intrigue your mind

Or bore you the whole time

I’m just asking to know

And that’s why I rhyme

Your life is so busy

And I don’t want to bother

It’s just hard to tell

If you’d really want another

Message from me

During your busy days

I can clearly see

It’s better spent other ways

So please just reply

With a yes or a no

Mind games aren’t for me

I just really need to know

I’ll be leaving soon

Off on a trip for a while

And though I’ll be back

I’ll miss that sweet smile

You Remain

What constant remains
In a world with constant change
No man made thing
No creation on this earth
Stands unchanged

But You are the constant
You will stand the test of time
Before the world was born
You were there
And will remain

Creator of all things great and small
Through the fluctuations of life
In times of joy
In time of strife
You will sustain

Oh, God, what is this feeling
That flows from deep inside?

It bubbles and warms me
An overwhelming feeling
Yet fear says it can’t be real
Just a figment in my mind

Please let it be joy
Real joy that I find in You
Not created of my own design
For ideas can be torn apart
Ripped and destroyed

But Your amazing love
Is something I can keep
And hold deep
And spread wide

It’s on my heart, this feeling
And I still don’t know the reason why
One day it may crush me
This reality of life

But this joyful feeling
Oh, this happiness enduring
Let it rise
Rise up in me
And hold me close to You
