Some Words

They don’t hurt

Not right away

They stick

And they stay

And soon

They burn away

Any thought

Any hope

They make you feel

Like a dope

And the person

Who spoke

Makes it worse

Makes you choke!

And you’re mad

And you’re sad

Not sure what to say

Or why you feel this way

And you need to move on

And you need to feel strong

But a bridge has snapped

And you’re not sure you can get back

But life will move on

Whether you’re here or gone

So pull them away

And remember today

That we’re all a little human

Even the best of us
